Daily Mo Update
The past few days have been a bit odd, a mix of the terrible things in Paris and the happiness of my family. So I hold my loved ones close, and hope we don’t have to face such things in our lifetime first-hand. The Stache continues, and the kisses have returned 🙂
Movember Awareness
The key to dealing with ones depression is support. Whether seen or unseen, no phone call or dinner-date is ever detrimental to one who suffers. Just simply knowing that the love is there can make or break a day, month or even year for a lot of people!

Daily Mo Update
I can’t decide if I like the Mo or hate it, but it’s undeniable that it’s for a good cause. Just keep on growin’
Inspiration. Motivation. Aspiration. These are all things that you lack when you’re depressed. The sunniest day seems cold and lonely and a walk outside equals the effort of running a marathon. For some people, the only solution is medication. For others, talking about what’s getting them down can help. Regardless, these things, that seem near impossible to have when you suffer from depression, are the things you need to strive for to make a better life for yourself and kick the depression. For me, finding music that is upbeat or music that makes me feel like I am doing something epic tends to take my mind off of the downtrodden emotions that fill me. Some people prefer nostalgic music, angsty music, or music which relates to their mood, but I find a lot of times all this does is perpetuate my depression. I also tell myself “If you don’t like the way you feel, do something about it.” This is most definitely easier said than done, but if you can convince yourself that you’re in control of your depression, you won’t let it run your life. Be active. Force yourself to participate because showing up is the hardest part. If you can do that, you can do anything.

Daily Mo Update
Ok. Confession time. My mustache is driving me loony. It’s itchier than the time I got poison oak AND poison sumac on my fingers in the same month… and it’s continuously stabbing me because I can’t trim it. On the bright side, it’s growing in better than it ever has! I can’t wait until I get passed this phase of growth.
Movember Awareness
Awareness today is a journal entry— learn through my experiences: Today was the best day I’ve had all month, and it’s no thanks to the support of my best friends and those at GMP who have provided an excellent support group. Today, I applied to be an editor for another company outside of current job, which will edge my ever closer to a happy career. I finally took the plunge and applied to the PeaceCorps like I’d been planning. I recently moved across the state and today I took another big step and found another therapist to help with my depression. I picked up piano again, after not seriously practicing for over a year. I also committed to a new diet/work out plan to help get myself into the shape I want to be. I ALSO started a writer’s page for myself to help get some of my writing out there…
Days like this are few and far between. Most days I’m scraping myself off the floor. I spend the whole day battling backs tears of hopelessness, trying to convince myself that I’m worth it— that I’m going to make it.. that I’m loved. It’s a constant war within. Constant. Never take advantage of those who seem like they are having a good day. It may have taken ever single ounce of strength they have to make that day good. Support them and tell them how amazing it is that they are fighting to keep going. And compliment them. Even something small. Trust me. It can make all the difference in the world.

Daily Mo Update
I got a lot of writing done today. It’s nice when my schedule allows me to take time chasing my passions. I think most people would agree waking at 4:30am, going to work at 6:30, coming home at 4:44, then cooking for and cleaning up after 3 kids while my wife goes to school until 8:30pm can make you want to spend some time unwinding and working on projects. I am grateful my life is engineered as such, and I feel ready to take on the week.
