I spent years chasing a woman I could never have.
Not because she was unavailable. Because I made her unavailable in my mind.
I created a version of her that didn’t exist. I gave her qualities she didn’t possess. I turned her into the ideal because the fantasy was safer than reality.
And while I was chasing that ghost, a real woman was standing right in front of me.
A woman who wanted me. Who showed up. Who actually tried.
But I couldn’t see her. Because I was too busy measuring her against an illusion.
The Fantasy vs The Real
Here’s what I didn’t understand for years:
The woman you’ll never have is attractive precisely because you can never have her.
She represents possibility. Potential. The “what if.” She’s the version of you that’s successful, the relationship that works, the life that’s perfect all projected onto one person.
She’s not real. She’s a mirror. She’s what you wish you were, who you wish you were with.
But the woman you actually need? She’s standing in front of you, flawed and real and actually possible.
And you’re rejecting her because she doesn’t match the fantasy.
Why Men Chase The Impossible
The woman you’ll never have requires nothing of you except longing.
You can stay stuck. You can stay incomplete. You can blame her for not choosing you instead of examining why you chose her.
She’s the perfect excuse. The perfect reason to never move forward. The perfect justification for staying broken.
Because as long as you’re chasing her, you never have to actually try with someone real.
You never have to risk rejection from someone who matters. You never have to be vulnerable with someone who could actually hurt you.
You’re safe in the fantasy. Protected by the impossibility.
But the woman who actually wants you? She requires everything.
She requires you to show up. To be present. To actually work on yourself instead of just fantasizing about being better.
She requires you to risk real rejection. Real failure. Real pain.
And that’s too much.
The Price Of Choosing The Fantasy
I spent months chasing the unavailable woman.
Analyzing her every word. Obsessing over her every move. Hoping that if I just understood her well enough, if I just became good enough, she’d choose me.
Meanwhile, the real woman was texting me. Asking me out. Showing me she cared.
But I couldn’t see her. Because she wasn’t the fantasy.
She was too available. Too real. Too willing to actually be with me.
And that made her invisible.
By the time I realized what I’d done, it was too late.
The real woman had moved on. She’d gotten tired of competing with a ghost.
And I was left with the fantasy, which was never going to choose me either.
What The Fantasy Gives You
The fantasy gives you:
– Permission to stay stuck
– An excuse for your failures
– A reason to never fully commit
– Protection from real vulnerability
– Endless hope without actual possibility
It’s the perfect trap.
Because you can tell yourself you’re a romantic. You’re devoted. You’re willing to wait.
But really, you’re just afraid.
What The Real Woman Offers
The real woman offers:
– Actual possibility
– Real connection
– Genuine vulnerability
– True risk
– The chance to actually build something
But she requires you to give up the fantasy.
She requires you to choose her over the version of her you created in your mind.
She requires you to actually show up.
The Moment I Finally Understood
I remember the exact moment I realized what I’d done.
I was scrolling through her Instagram and I saw her with someone else. Happy. Real. Present.
And I finally saw her. Not the fantasy I’d created. But the actual person.
And I realized: she was never the problem. I was.
I’d projected so much onto her that I’d made her into something she could never be.
A hero in a story about me. A solution to my incompleteness.
But she was just a person. A real person who deserved someone who actually wanted her, not someone who wanted the idea of her.
Why You Keep Choosing Wrong
You keep choosing the fantasy because it feels noble.
It feels like devotion. Like you’re the good guy. Like you’re willing to wait and work and sacrifice.
But you’re not. You’re just avoiding reality.
The real woman is standing right in front of you, and you’re invisible to her because you’re too busy staring at a ghost.
I wasted months on someone who could never give me what I actually needed.
Because I was too afraid to accept someone who could.
The Emotional Code teaches you to recognize this pattern. To understand why you chase the fantasy instead of accepting the real.
To know the difference between projection and genuine connection.
Because the cruelest thing you can do to yourself is spend your life chasing a woman you invented while ignoring the woman who’s actually there.

The Choice You Have To Make
Right now, there’s probably a real woman somewhere in your life.
She’s showing up. She’s trying. She’s offering something genuine.
And there’s the fantasy. The woman you can never have. The one who represents everything you wish for.
You have to choose.
But understand this: the fantasy will never choose you. She can’t. She’s not real.
The real woman will only wait so long.
And one day, you’ll realize you spent your entire life chasing someone who was never there, while ignoring someone who was.
Don’t be that man.
The Emotional Code exists because I lived this exact pattern.
Because I chased ghosts while real women stood in front of me.
This book teaches you to see the difference. To recognize when you’re projecting. To understand why you sabotage real connections in favor of impossible fantasies.
Not so you can go back to the fantasy. So you can finally be present with reality.
