Amidst all the furor and hoopla about Resident Trump’s current pet project, the SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) Act, there has been little coverage of a crucial facet of his crusade against mail-in voting.
Trump wants to ban mail-in voting as a normal, widespread voting process, and seeks to limit it to disabled folks or overseas citizens. This ban is not included in the current SAVE Act (which is already plenty bad), but he insists that the GOP revise the bill to include it — and has now refused to sign any other legislation until the GOP passes a ‘new, improved’ SAVE Act.
Since Trump almost always has a sneaky ulterior motive, I wondered exactly why he is so laser-focused on banning mail-in voting. I recalled that many Democrat-led states use mail-in voting, but I wasn’t sure how extensive the practice is. So, I did a Google search for “which US states rely on mail-in voting.” The results astounded me — and scared me.
It turns out, eight states and Washington, DC rely on mail-in voting as their primary or only way to vote. The eight states are: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. Want to guess how many of these are blue, Democratic-leaning states? Six of them, with the only GOP-leaning state being Utah (Nevada swings both ways)!
This brings Trump’s nefarious (and unconstitutional) game plan into sharper focus. It’s clear, now, that he is working — hard! — to disenfranchise blue state voters and cripple many blue states’ voting processes. How? Well, if the GOP succeeds in passing an expanded SAVE Act, in line with Trump’s demands, it will leave just a few months until the critical November elections — and the affected states or areas, all nine of them, will not have time to rapidly revamp their voting procedures and come up with a viable alternative. Not coincidentally, seven of them reliably vote Democratic.
Poof! There go millions of Democratic votes — along with quite a few GOP votes. But crucially, the number of disenfranchised Democratic voters will far exceed any GOP losses in these seven vast arenas. This shift alone could swing the elections in the GOP’s favor.
No wonder Trump is so fanatically “bullish” on an expanded SAVE Act!

My next question is, why are mainstream media not covering this huge story? Has Trump successfully pulled the wool over their eyes? Are they poorly informed? Or are they just distracted and dazzled by the latest shiny objects dangled in front of them, like the Iran war, for instance?
Whatever the reason, it’s clear that mainstream media are largely in Trump’s pocket and are reluctant to directly confront him or expose his dirty tricks. So, it’s up to us, as concerned and worried US citizens, to sound the alarm and get this information out there.
The fast-approaching November elections are US citizens’ last, best chance to rein in the out-of-control Trump regime and stop its worst abuses. Plus, if Democrats retake the House, Trump knows full well that they will launch investigation after investigation and will surely impeach him on several counts.
Trump knows that these elections will mark a critical turning point for our nation and for him, personally. If things go his way and the GOP prevails, he’ll be able to continue his rampage here at home and on the world stage with almost total impunity. But if the Democrats win the House, and especially if they also win back the Senate, he, his plans, and his legacy are probably toast.
Clearly, the stakes are huge, both for Trump and for our nation. We simply can’t let him get away with his corrupt, lawless scheme to curtail and ‘cancel’ millions of Democratic votes.
Spread the word. Call and write your Senators and Congresspeople. Scream it from the rooftops. Somehow, we have got to reclaim our democracy — and stopping Trump’s latest creepy plan to disrupt or disenfranchise blue-leaning voters is a crucial step in that direction.
