Curiosity is a gateway to unlocking your latent gifts and has been described as a desire for learning and knowledge, according to Min Jeong Kang. Kang and colleagues found that curiosity enhances learning.
Additionally, the evolution of curiosity finds that humans tend to make better choices and more sophisticated comparisons, according to the National Library of Medicine. Moreover, curiosity is omnipresent in humans, but our individual perspective and application of its creative forces vary.
Have you ever asked yourself, “what am I most curious about?”
This simple question may allow you to tap into curiosity’s creative energy. Curiosity’s creative energy works in many ways. That internal nudge of a question or quiet inquisitiveness works as a relinquishing mechanism and source of energy if acted upon.
First, curiosity relinquishes the sub-conscious narratives that hold us back from living a more fulfilling and enriching life. How often have you thought to yourself something like this?
- “I cannot do that, as I am too old.”
- “I simply do not have enough time to learn another language.”
- “I am not familiar or confident enough to learn a new skill.”
- “I am too invested in my current career to venture into something else.”
Act on your curiosity and observe yourself.
While you observe yourself, you become aware of non-serving beliefs that are holding you back. We all carry non-serving beliefs about our capabilities and limitations. Your non-serving beliefs will slowly lose their power over your mind if you implement curiosity into your weekly routine.
You can relinquish the reasons you do not act on your curiosity by giving in to its creative power. The same force that holds you back from your inquisitive nature is the same force reminding you to tap into it. They are equally as strong – both carrying an eternal reservoir of growth or stagnation.
How often does your inner being remind you of things you are interested in?
When was the last time you acted on those things? Think of those moments. If your curiosity aligned with skill, there was likely a corresponding ascension period during that span of your life. That ascension period likely occurred as you entered the workforce or your entrepreneur journey.
Think about your own personal development and growth over the years. Growth is on the other side of curiosity. Review your own timeline and see where this may have occurred. Oftentimes, the things we are curious about will take years to master, but the compounding force of curiosity’s creative energy lifts your being into a different mode of living –- a more fulfilling lifestyle.
Just scroll through history to see all the humans who got a late start and ended up making fantastic careers for themselves. It is never too late to search out information that speaks to your secret hobbies or passions, as many humans have unlocked their creative gifts at different stages of their life.
Often, we confuse age or our current capabilities with what is possible. Operating with this mindset creates a fixed and narrow view of this fantastic world we inhabit. The choice is yours. Do not push away your latent gifts. This world needs you.
