A lovers embrace of rock and root.
–––
This intimate entwining of nature throws out connections to all the cardinal points.
Once again, where one part of this sensuous world ends and another begins is difficult to see.
The leaf will soon become incorporated into the soil and its gentle senesce will feed the tree from which it was born.
Above, the overarching roots create and define the riverbank, whilst providing their own micro-climate for a host of organisms.
The great web reveals itself once more; rock, tree, leaf and river all alive, all in motion and all interconnected.
In these moments of natural clarity the inescapeable reality of our own deep muscled connections to the ecology make themselves felt.
We are one and we are each other.
