There are songs in your playlists that you hear,
and then there are songs in your playlist that happen to you.
“Kase sartil saye” that one masterpiece didn’t play through my ears,
It walked straight into my heart,
settled like pebble thrown in the lake,
and has been living ever since then…
It’s not just a song, its a feeling, a feeling of longing.
A subtle feeling of longing which is so soft and tender.
A feeling so fragile.
It doesn’t asks us to be understood,
It just exists…
It exists in the weight of those unspoken words,
It exists in the memory that smiles and aches in the same breath.
Its not a song that cries out loudly for what’s lost.
Its sits with you quietly and lonely on a bench of past,
And then…. Then it whispers,
You are not alone…
The song is not about desperately missing someone,
Rather it is about delicately missing someone.
Its not about the love which is loud or dramatic.
Its about love which is silently lingering in your heart after everything that has been said.
Its not the feeling of you missing a person, its about the feeling of you missing yourself with that person.
And oh those lines…..
“आता नाही बोलायाचे जरा जरा जगायाचे…” (No more talking, just live a little longer)
Its not a plea, neither is it a demand.
It’s just a soft surrender…. A surrender to the time…. to the silence….
A surrender to that unbearable yet beautiful emotion of moving forward as something inside you stays behind.
Every time I play this song, my mind wanders through moments.
Moments that never got their closure.
It wanders to the eyes I never seen enough.
It wanders to the people I never hugged long enough.
It wanders to the laughter that I wish I could hear one more time.
We all carry such moments in our heart. Moments of such hearts…
Hearts never gone, never forgotten, just not quite there.
But still there, living there, smiling there, laughing there.
There in your heart, there in those moments, in your joy and in your fear.
There in you….
That very emotion is what this song wraps in its delicate lyrics…
“गुलाबाची फुलं दोन रोज राती डोळ्यांवर” (Roses on my eyes every night)
Just visualising it fills my heart with something unexplainable.
Its not sadness, neither is it peace.
Like a smile that weighs you down,
Like tears that are there but refuse to fall,
That kind of poetry this song effortlessly gives.
Honestly, the song doesn’t need any translation,
Because the emotion in it. It is universal.
You don’t need to know Marathi language to understand the emotion behind it.
And neither do you need to understand every word in the song to feel what it’s trying to say.
And that right there, that is the magic of a good art.
Art that breaks all the boundaries of grammar.
Art that becomes an emotion.
What Kase Sartil Saye taught me personally is this:
Life is not always about joy or sorrow.
Maybe it is about holding both of them together in the same hand,
And learning to walk ahead. Learning to keep walking.
Because you know, I think bitterness does not always need healing.
Sometimes it just needs holding. No need to run from the ache.
Just let it exist. Let it exist quietly.
Because that’s where our growth is in.
In the quiet aches, in the silent songs and in those beautiful verses.
“जरा घन झुरू दे ना
वारा गुदमरू दे ना”
Let the clouds ache…..
Let the winds choke…..
And let the emotions bloom like a poem and dissolve like a whisper.
If you ever missed someone like this…
If you ever felt such unexplainable ache that wasn’t loud but lived quietly inside you…
Then maybe this song was already written for you…
And if you haven’t heard this song yet,
Then don’t listen it for the words it has,
Listen it for the emotion it carries,
Because that’s where it will hit you,
The way it did to me,
In the place where your memories and maybes meet.
If you have any songs that hit you similarly, then please do talk about them in the comments, I would love to hear such songs and feel the emotions behind them. I have also shared a link to song “Kase Sartil Saye” down below if anyone is interested in listening it. Do tell me how you like it.
Good Morning… Oh and in case I dont see ya… Good Afternoon…. Good Evening…. and Good Night…. 🫡😁❤️
