Navigating the world of dating apps can sometimes feel like wading through a sea of exaggeration. I mean who hasn’t found themselves swiping left on the same types of profiles over and over?
It seems like every app has its own version of the same old suspects, and for those of us who crave something a bit more genuine, it’s a waste of time.
Not only are we finding the same underwhelming types of profiles over and over again, but they are all filled with extravagant lies.
It’s time for a new type of dating app.
The grandiose profile
There is an overwhelming trend of over-the-top profiles. Everywhere you look, men are boasting about their skydiving adventures, world travels, and extreme sports.
If that’s your jam — awesome. More power to you. Go find someone who shares that passion for adrenaline-fueled exploits and exotic escapades.
But here’s the thing: that’s not what everyone is looking for.
Some of us are searching for something much more down-to-earth. I’m not interested in whether you’ve scaled Everest or sampled every exotic cuisine.
I’d much rather prefer someone who is genuinely themselves — maybe a little quieter, a little less flashy, but someone who is real.
We need a different kind of dating app
Imagine a dating app designed for those who prefer cozy weekend strolls, cooking a homemade meal, or enjoying a sunset on the porch with a glass of wine. For those who find joy in simple, meaningful conversations rather than grandiose adventures.
I’m talking about a space where you can talk about your favorite childhood memories, your beloved pet, or what you genuinely enjoy about your work. A place where sharing a love for music or discussing what makes you tick is the norm.
What if there was a dating app tailored for those who find happiness in quiet moments and value deep, sincere connections? It could be geared toward those who prefer heartfelt conversations over grandiose adventures.
A space like that might help find someone who appreciates the quiet moments and values sincere connections.
Some might say that is boring, for introverts, or both. Maybe it is, but I can’t be the only one who is seeking that type of interaction.
Still, I’m not sure if those things are to be found on dating apps. Worse yet, I’m not sure those things are to be found in our modern world anymore.
But if they are, we need a dating app that lends itself to this type of vibe. It might be the perfect way for the INJFs of the world to find each other.
