Success can be attributed to many elements of life but one may correlate mental strength with it. Most people with a strong mind can overcome different situations and can succeed because of the many functionalities of how the brain works. Knowing why and how mentally strong people move forward and attain achievements throughout their lives is fascinating.
There aren’t any right or wrong answers into why mentally strong people are successful and I’m sure if you asked a few they would probably have different answers. From my experience, I can think of a few reasons that will link many successful people together. Some have very strong commonalities which seem to propel them to a different state of mind and a different level of success.
Controlled Energy At All Times
It may appear that mentally strong individuals have a “controlness” or calmness about themselves. Their energy level is almost never too high or too low just a “coolness” that appears to be be distinctive and their environment seems to be controlled too. You rarely see these people out of control where they are subtle as well.
Now you might ask yourself:
How did they get to the point to where they control their own energy and/or environments?
I’m sure it didn’t take one day or even one year to get to this state of mind. Just like anything else it takes time and sometimes years of working on yourself which will entail many experiences to formulate internal control along with the environment in which energy is contained.
Share Everything Within To Help Others
Many successful people discuss their willingness to share everything they know especially when it comes to helping other people. One reason for this is they believe if you genuinely help many people you can get what you want in life and it will reciprocate. When you help others get what they want then karma occurs where you’ll get more things coming back to you and maybe more than originally anticipated.
Now that may be selfish thinking for some but there’s truly a philosophy behind this especially if you read literature by people such as Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Stephen Covey and many others who’ve written endlessly about success. Sharing your experiences with others will help people not make the same mistakes that you’ve made or assist them in some other positive way that could guide more people in the future.
Serial And Calculated Risk Takers
People who are mentally strong usually succeed as serial risk-takers because of a few reasons that we will discuss. The analogy or example is the mindset of a baseball player who is standing in the batter’s box who has three or more attempts to hit the ball.
Of the three or more tries, they may or may not be successful but they also have multiple times to get to the desired result because of more innings and they’ll have more at-bats to hit the baseball.
When you’re a mentally strong person, you understand that in order to succeed you have to take a risk when opportunities arise. And those risks should be calculated in order to succeed and have more chances of achieving more success for your vision to come to fruition. Taking risks can be the most underrated reason for a mentally strong person that can succeed throughout various scenarios.
Get Comfortable With Repeated Failures
Why would anyone want to embrace failure to the point of inviting it into their life or way of thinking? It almost sounds odd but the concept of doing so makes much sense to the progressing of mentally strong people and here’s why…
When you fall, what’s the most instinctive thing that you are going to do? You are going to get right back up! It makes sense because if you’re trying to get to a certain point or accomplish a certain goal in your life, you’re going to go through obstacles. If you fall and you stay down, then you are validating the naysayers in your life that told you negative things about the thing or idea that you are trying to achieve.
When you fall over and over and over and then get back up over and over and overlook at it as one step closer to reaching your “promised land” or goal because you are learning every step of the way. Look to fail repeatedly and get comfortable with it because you will be more than prepared to deal with anything that you know is headed your way.
Accept Criticism Regardless Of Backlash
The one thing that mentally strong people do in order to succeed is to accept criticism proudly and also ignoring backlash. Probably everyone that walks the face of the earth has one or more people that we call Haters.
There are people who are critical of your ideas, beliefs, goals or almost anything connected to you. You have to embrace these situations because they will occur and you must have an understanding that you can’t control outside “noise.”
You cannot go through life expecting everyone to like you or your message, plans or goals. It’s your life and only yours so be proud, show thick skin and plenty of gratitude.
The backlash is coming and preparation is the key to grasping what you already know is on the way. You are intellectually powerful and your overall success can benefit a variety of causes and people as well.
