As a content producer, my brain is constantly thinking about my next creation. Sometimes, I wonder if I’m normal because of the amount of things that comes to my mind every minute. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate having this creative burst when I’m at work and in need to create content.
The problem comes when I’m about to fall asleep at midnight. My brain doesn’t want to shut up.
What if we create a video showcasing gamers’ reaction?
How do we leverage on World Cup in our blog?
Oooh, I have a brilliant way to draft the EDMs
These are some of the questions I had before sleep. And I’ll end up spending 2+ hours expanding my thoughts.
…Until I took out my idea notebook and list my thoughts down. It’s a messy compilation of whatever I have in mind. And to be honest, I might not even read it the next morning but it helps to calm my mind.
My question to all of you is:
- Do you face the same problem?
- And what do you do about it?
- Is there any other method that helps you sleep better?
By writing my thoughts down at night, I’ve started to notice that I have more creative ideas coming to me the next day. Somehow, I am more productive and am able to craft new ideas to improve my work. It’s as if I took this block of backdated thoughts out of my mind for new ideas to roll in.
In a way, I cleanse my mind every night. I hope you try doing this and see how beneficial it will be for you.
