Men, we need you to be courageous and speak up.
Jeremy Loveday wants men to speak up and speak out. His video is a slam poem discussing the culture of violence and the way silence can enable more hurt. He asks men to be courageous. In a discussion of equality both men and women need to stop thinking of violent people as monsters and start seeing the issues caused by humans.
Loveday is a performance poet, creative facilitator, event planner, and political junky.

One in three what? Rape? 1 in 3 women are raped? An epidemic? Are you kidding me?
Idk, I kinda liked this. I mean, it’s encouraging men to open up their softer side. It would be perfect if he could do it in less of a “save women. protect women. from those jerks who are other men.” He could have gone farther mentioned how most violence is committed against other men, or talk about the staggering number of suicides by men compared to women and say: “Clearly, CLEARLY we are hurting. We need to stop hiding behind the mask of magically being ‘unaffected’ either to protect the women in our lives or to keep other men impressed.… Read more »
“Clearly, CLEARLY we are hurting. We need to stop hiding behind the mask of magically being ‘unaffected’ either to protect the women in our lives or to keep other men impressed. This isn’t about ‘beating up the bad guy’, it’s about saving him, and those around him. We commit most violence, but is it in our nature? Is it because we hate others so strongly? Or is it because we are hurting, and people are more comfortable seeing a man drink himself to death, beat his wife, or start brawls at the bar, than the frightening prospect of sympathizing with… Read more »
OK, here we go. Another ‘All men are natural born rapist and we must evolve to fight our natural born instinct to rape women . Sorry, don’t buy it. I’ve always been a pretty strong (physically) person and have always felt a responsibility because of that to protect anyone, man or woman, who might be in danger of any sort of assault. If I stumbled upon a woman being sexually assaulted, or for that matter, assaulted in any way, I would gladly beat that assaulter into a coma or worse. What more you want me to do, I don’t know.
I would take Note and contact Authorities not beat the crap out of that guy he’s probably got issues with women rejecting him and his had enough so he jumps a woman!
And it isn’t HIS problem it is women in general and their frigging outrageous attitudes shows me what type of Violent arsehole you are bobbt. VIOLENCE IS NOT OKAY IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM you let the COPPERS TAKE CARE OF IT!
Great that you would step in and help. I don’t think men are born rapists or that women are born gold-diggers. I don’t think everyone falls into these categories, but I do think we need to hold each other accountable and a part of that is not letting those FEW men who are predators get away with their behaviour. In college I watched guys assure me this or that guy was “good”, and at least one of them regularly preyed on women who were too drunk to consent. That’s sexual assault in Canada and it is not ok. I wish… Read more »
