Today we honor the accomplishments of this mustachioed space traveler Chris Hadfield
Chris Hadfield has an impressive resume of accomplishments. Earlier this year he captured out imaginations by tweeting from space (with help from his son),and creating educational videos. Forbes described him as, “perhaps the most social media savvy astronaut ever to leave Earth”. He was also the first Canadian to ever walk in space, and as a Canadian I am contractually obligated to point that out.
He’s currently busy promoting his new book, An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth. He recently revealed to the CBC three surprising tips to becoming an astronaut.
-
Keep your body in shape and eat well
-
Challenge yourself with education, and push yourself to learn things you barely expect to learn.
-
Practice making decisions and sticking with them
Hadfield has done a funny Movember themed video too, “The Astronauts Guide to Movember” where he plays a clueless earthling astronaut disappointed by the lack of interest in his daily activities. Hadfield says his more recent clips of pouring himself cereal and folding laundry on earth haven’t proven nearly as successful as when he was performing day-to-dat operations in space.
Hadfield has a Movember profile, where you can contribute to the campaign. (His moustache is only rated a 3.5 out of five at the moment). The man is charming and funny, and unassuming in addition to being a amazing moonwalker. He deserves AT LEAST a 4. He’s my favorite mustache-of-the-day so far.
