Meet Henry Morello, certified badass. This 85-year-old diabetic survived five days in the Arizona desert without any food or water by drinking his car’s windshield wiper fluid.
After leaving his favorite restaurant, Morello took a wrong turn and drove into a ditch. After an unsuccessful effort attempt to leave the car, he crawled back. As he put it, “The [car] battery went dead. My phone went dead. And I went dead.”
He munched on his pasta leftovers but stopped when it made him thirsty. He eventually resorted to drinking his car’s windshield wiper fluid to quench his thirst. For the next few days, Morello read the car manual and prayed to the “guy upstairs” to pass the time. In the evenings, he used the car mats to stay warm.
Morello was found five days later by hikers. He is at the hospital in good condition. Despite his ordeal, Morello has no plans to give up his favorite restaurant. But he has given up his car keys.
I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT SOME KIDNEY PROBLEMS WERE OBSERVED FOLLOWING HIS ORDEAL — ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS ?
Wow! That is the craziest thing I have heard for a long time! That is good to know!
