This just came in from Twitter from @Shobha_SV, so we thought we’d do the only thing we can and ask our community. Guys — Flowers? Yes, no? If not, what?
I like to receive flowers. I don’t care its practical sh*t or not. Its just super sweet to me if a woman give flowers to her man.

I’d prefer a blowjob. 😛
But more seriously, not really. I like taking photos of pretty flowers but receiving them is a waste of money. That’s 20-100bucks that could be spent on tools, a meal, something that has more value to me than just dying n withering. Helping me plant a garden bed would be a better gift.

My two cents: Flowers are definitely better than no token of appreciation at all. But for the same money or less you could buy me dinner or lunch, and that would make me a lot happier.
Just like everyone else. Guy’s like feeling appreciated or valued. I prefer more practical and personal gifts like homemade food. I knew things weren’t going to work out with a girlfriend when she asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I asked her to make some tamales. She makes good tamales (for Christmas) and I knew they were lots of work. She offered other things including sex acts, but then I figured that in her mind I wasn’t worth the effort so it wasn’t going to go anywhere.
Our farm share includes cut your own flowers, and I’ve brought them home a few times. It means hooking up the trailer to my bicycle so they don’t get all windblown to hell on the way back, so it’s kind of a pain in the ass but it was a worthwhile effort to make, in the season. They pretty up the house. They’re cheerful to look at. Natural shapes are incredibly soothing to the eye and brain. We don’t live by bread alone.
Sure, but those weren’t store bought and were a lot of work and I’m sure would be appreciated.

It depends on the context. First off I would have to have done something specific. Flowers just because or in general or because it’s a holiday feel demeaning. Also, if they’re being sent by FTD only send them to the office if they’re for something I can brag about at the office, else just give them personally which is preferable anyways. Not because it’s shameful to give a man flowers but because it’s from you to them anyways. Finally, really be choosy about the flowers themselves and how they reflect the man and the deed. Put some thought into it.
Hell – I’ll take the flowers! I Like Lilac and Peonies with loads of Alchemilla thrown in. Why are some guys so hung up about being given a biological present?
I’ll also take Choccy – Champers – Bubble bath, in fact I’ll take just about anything except edible underwear!
Not the thing for Christmas maybe, but for some truly significant occasion that would be a really neat way to mark a special occasion. Just a few times n my life I would live that!
I LOVE fresh cut flowers. Nothing nicer than fresh flowers to make your house smell nice. In the nice weather I keep fresh cut flowers in my room.

Do men like to receive flowers? Sort of like asking do women like anal sex? Some will, some won’t. You simply can’t come up with a yes-no answer to such a broad question to such a broad group.

I would love it! It would be so much out of the ordinary. Although as Danny says, that they die quickly, and he would like a more “practical” gift, nothing ays appreciaton like creativity, beauty, and thoughtfulness, through a gift you are willing to spend money on, even if the gift withers within a few days. BTW, I would take a photo of the flowers and save it for future remembrance.
Not me. They die in a few weeks. I’d rather have an appliance or money or some other substantial gift that will last longer than that. In fact my birthday is next week and my girlfriend just got me a crockpot as an early present!
