Creation. It would be simple, but I’ll explain the power in three steps that it would slowly manifest as. First it would begin with the ability to copy any object I’ve touched… to make permanent clones of anything, although it will start out as making the copy exactly as it appears: copying a broken TV and gaining broken TVs: it will inevitably gain the function to create fixed versions instead of broken ones. Second it will manifest from copying objects from blueprints from paper… to object. This could make anything from a gun to a spaceship, and anything in between… Read more »
Number one would be flying. Oh I I long for the gift of flight. If I could fly, I’d be able to get so much more done. Traveling would be nice too, but getting things done… yup, that’s it.
In high school an English teacher used to pose the question. If you had a ring that allowed you to be invisible once for 20 minutes, what would you do? His freshman class would say things like I’d steal secrets for the government from our enemies or I’d help the team win a big game. When he asked the same question to his senior class, the boys would just laugh.

I wish I had the power to always know the correct answer to a question…even for a question that I might ask myself.

I’m 80, and if I had one power it wouldn’t be to create the fountatin of youth, it would the power to bring everlasting peace. I’m so sick of war and our military culture. War doesn’t protect our freedoms. It kills those who haven’t had a chanc to live normal lives and uses up precious resources both human and material.

Telekinesis. It would bring the world to my door… whenever I felt like it.
Invisibility at my whim. No question. Screw flying, screw super strength, screw x-ray vision, screw all that stuff. I want the ability to become invisible any time.

Why choose just one? If I’m fantasizing, I might as well go all the way and declare that the universe would be a much better place if I were omnipotent. On a “this power would still make for a good comic book” level of power, I want the ability to use video game saves in real life. (I’d also need to remember everything that happened each time I reloaded; it wouldn’t do me much good to do the same thing every time I decided to reload an earlier save file.) For example, I could get kicked out of casinos by… Read more »

The psychic ability to influence the minds of others.
Then I’d bring world peace by exterminating violence as a viable option solution to conflict resolution.
It’s tough to choose one. I’d lean towards being able go wherever I wanted to any time period I chose, but that would be a major cluster F. There are times when I’d settle for multiple mes, since there just isn’t enough time in the day to get stuff done.

Energy being, able to transform into anything, and hopefully having enough power to cause a major fusion or fission reaction against mah enemies. But hell it’d be a superpower in itself to help find a huge way to treat heart disease, or crack cheap affordable fusion energy.

Somedays I would love to be able to read minds. No delving into people’s subconscious but hearing the surface thoughts. But then, I am a little afraid of what I might hear. If I am tired, telekinesis sounds wonderful if only to lift the book I forgot to grab before collapsing on my bed. And the mug of tea. And the cat.

To be able to eat as many of the pan seared scallops as I want and not get sick, man they look good! and of course all the red wine to go with it
. Now to be serious. Super powers, so many to choose from, unlimited strength, fly, x-ray vision etc etc . Mine is to heal people just by touching them either there body or there mind or spirit. And to go along with it to teach people that violence, war, and chaos are no way to live…
Sensory Tap: The ability to tap into any of the senses of other people. Tapping multiple senses of a single target would possible (for example tapping the hearing and sight of a single person) . Tapping a single sense from multiple targets would be possible (for example tapping the hearing of person A and the sight of person B). Tapping multiple senses of multiple targets would be possible (for example tapping the sight and hearing of person A and tapping the touch and smell of person B). But all powers need to have a drawback. For however long you tap… Read more »

The ability to cause someone to experience a paper cut at will. That way I don’t have people bugging me all the time to use my super strength to help them move or my invisibility to go eavesdrop for them or my incredible speed to freakin’ save the day all the time. I’m more into gadgets anyway- I’ve got my eye on a jet pack and a death ray.
I would like to flip a switch and see lights….

Is the use of mind control in that manner ethical?

I like the way you think, Robert!
The ability to apparate, or (if I wasn’t such a big Harry Potter nerd) teleport.
The ability to learn and master anything just by watching another person do it.
