You can’t get anything done sitting on your butt. Talking about your vision won’t make it happen. Telling others about it won’t bring it to pass. Dreaming about it won’t manifest it. You must take consistent action daily to birth your vision.
Life is constantly about change; it is forever moving. Yesterday seems light-years away. As I get older it seems as if the days, weeks, months and years are moving at fast break speeds. But, when I really think about it, time is moving at the same pace it has always moved.
Each of us possesses the same twenty-four hours a day, one-hundred and sixty-eight hours a week, and eight thousand seven hundred sixty hours a year. The question I present to you is “What are you doing with your time?”
Don’t waste any more time agonizing over what happened yesterday. Don’t let yesterday’s setbacks keep you from living today’s opportunities.
If you hit unforeseen turbulence, don’t quit. If you don’t succeed at first, don’t throw in the towel. Change your course and go in a different direction.
Getting where you desire to be takes effort. You must roll up your sleeves, strap on your work boots, put on your hard hat and go to work.
Reading books about others’ success won’t magically transfer success to you. Listening to motivational message after motivational message won’t bring instant success. You must conclude that you if you are going to live your best life, you must choose to change your mindset, create a plan and consistently take action.
Don’t be a one-hit wonder who takes action one time and thinks everything will fall into place without taking action again. Don’t miss your opportunity waiting for something magical to happen, for the right person to show up, for the perfect situation to come or for your past to go away. Rise up, take consistent action, and watch what happens.
Here are 12 motivators to help you win in 2019:
- Ignore the naysayers and doubters. Don’t allow people who have not walked in your shoes and who have not been through what you have been through talk you out of living your vision.
Your naysayers and doubters want you to struggle against your vision. They want you to give in to frustration and live with confusion. They want you to make lame excuses and constantly blame others. Don’t let the naysayers and doubters’ pessimistic attitude and negative outlook influence you to hold back on living your best life. Don’t fall into their deadly trap of lies and deception.
- Set specific goals. Setting specific goals will help you determine your priorities, get organized, make sound decisions and move your vision into action. A goal that is worth pursuing is not something that anyone can easily talk you out of attempting. If you miss a goal, don’t quit, reset it and get back to work! Your legacy is depending on it.
- Success is possible for everyone. It is not distinguished for a select group. It is more than accumulating money, amassing material possessions or acquiring personal achievements.
Real success is becoming the person you are purposed you to be; living positive values that guide your daily choices and actions; accomplishing the goals that give your life direction and sowing seeds that empower others.
- It’s okay to let go of discouraging people, destroying habits, debilitating thoughts and a disastrous past. You have suffered enough collateral damage. If you believe where you are going is better than where you have been or where you currently are, then it is time to do what you need to do and move forward. It is your responsibility. The decision is yours. You can’t wait for no one’s approval or the ideal situation. They may never come. Put your unique vision to work and see what happens.
- You don’t know what you can accomplish until you do it. I don’t care if no one hasn’t done it before, do it anyway. I don’t care if no one will go with you, go by yourself. I don’t care if you don’t get encouragement from your family or friends, encourage yourself. The person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse.
- Have a funeral for your past. Invite everyone that knows about your past and preach the eulogy. Dig the grave and bury it. You can’t live forward while dragging your past with you. It will not work. It is like trying to drive to a destination while looking in the rearview mirror. You will never make it! It is time to leave the past in the rearview mirror and focus forward.
- Focus on your future. A picture of your future focuses on where you are going and not where you have been and on the end-results and not the process for getting there. You must release the guilt of yesterday, the discouragement of today to focus on your promised future. A true picture of your future can only be seen, believed and achieved through the eyes of vision.
- 8. Stop making excuses. Excuses are self-built barriers that keep you from achieving what is possible. They hold you hostage from living your best life. If you persist on making excuses, your vision will always remain stagnant. A stagnant vision does not produce positive results. It only produces frustration, fatigue, and false hope. When you become serious about making a real commitment to your vision, you will eliminate the excuses and GET THE JOB DONE.
- 9. Life does not just get better by itself. Everything will not automatically fall in place because you read a five-step process on a blog post or read a book from an expert. It takes hard work and a tireless effort. It involves unwavering commitment and consistent daily action. Life is a continuous journey of independent present moments and choices. Whatever situation you are in right now, just know that it can change if you want it to.
- Change is often difficult. It can disrupt your life. It can interfere with your routine. The hardest part about change is letting go of what you used to and moving on with something different. No matter how much you want things to stay the same, they will not. Change is inevitable. Stop worrying, fretting and doubting, and believe that things will work out. Embrace the change, live expectantly and enjoy your life as you move forward.
- Give yourself permission to pursue your vision. You are not promised to live the next minute or the rest of today — let alone tomorrow — so you might as well live your vision. Don’t disqualify or downplay your vision. You don’t have to wait for someone to pick you. You have the potential to be a trailblazer, a trendsetter and a real difference-maker. The only thing that is stopping you is you. Creating a meaningful life and pursuing your vision takes time and effort. But you’re worth the effort. Now is the time to give yourself permission to move toward your unique vision.
- Don’t play the blame game. Too many people have a habit of blaming others for their circumstances. Their parents let them down, the company did not treat them fairly, the government was at fault, and the list goes on and on. You may have to look in the mirror and admit that your situation is a direct result of the choices you made. If you want to grow to your full potential, you must accept responsibility for where you are, learn from your mistakes, make the necessary changes and move forward.
