While it is undeniable that Hurricane Maria devastated the island where I resided for five years until after it made landfall, not many people outside the U.S. territory understand how the millions of lives that lived there changed as well.
For many, including myself, it meant doing everything we could in order to keep our families safe – even if that meant leaving the island we loved and starting somewhere new. So, with the help of friends, I moved my little family to North Georgia and began working as a Veterinary Assistant at a local animal emergency clinic.
After a grueling few months followed by a challenging 2018 that took me, what seemed to be hundreds of miles away from the work I truly love, I decided that 2019 was the year that I was going to get back to being creative and started a podcast. The idea behind From the Loft is to cover every topic imaginable.
Each month I’ll focus on one theme and produce shows accordingly. So far, I have seven shows that explore a large variety of topics that, I hope, sets the tone for the future of the show. This is just the start and I can’t wait where this podcast takes me.
