It used to be that men would look up at the sky from time to time to check which way the wind was blowing or to see what time it was or what season. The Sun told time and season. Clouds and tree tops the wind direction. Looking up informed if it was time for lunch, time to plant or time to take cover. What the wind was doing to the clouds might be a direction to warn others.
Men don’t look up so much anymore. They can get the weather report on their smart phones. There is an app. for that and for almost everything else.
Clouds don’t mean anything anymore unless they are black or funnel shaped. Where the sun sets, it is where it sets. There is no reason to keep track.
There have been more steel gray clouds here lately. The sun has been unusually bright for a long time. When it gets dark at night it often doesn’t get all dark. What does this mean? I don’t know. I don’t care much. I certainly don’t talk about it very often, because when I do I hear, “The sun has always been this bright and so it is cloudy today, so what?”
Talking about the Sun or the night being too bight can get you directed to a good website for sun glasses or funny looks. Get concerned about changes in the appearance of the Moon, best keep that to yourself.
Around here the unusually bright Sun seems to be drying out plants, keeping away ants and flies and causing a great deal of squinting. The fact that the Sun doesn’t set in familiar places anymore is lost on most. Those who can see it, aren’t sure what to do about it.
Don’t ask me where these new types of clouds are coming from and if it’s safe to go outside, because I don’t know.
Used to be men would look up to look for smoke on the horizon or other men on the march as a sign it was time to prepare for war or to run and hide. Whether you’ve noticed or not there are strange things to notice when you look up. Little sign as to what to do about it.
I haven’t seen anything that looks like a missile yet. The strange objects I do see have no creatures waving in them that I’ve noticed. NASA hasn’t been of much help.
I am keeping my eyes on the internet, before the sun sets on it. I will keep looking inward.
