The phrase “You are what you tell yourself” rings a bell in my heart. Recently, I have shifted into a “No excuses” mentally if I really desire something. This includes working out when I am tired. Putting down the bag of chips for almonds. I have goals and I want to reach them. The statement “No excuses” literally forces you not to accept what you say when you’re trying to rationalize your way out of your goals.
We’ve all done it. For example, we say: “Well…if I just have this one piece, it wouldn’t hurt…” “IF I deserve this piece of cake..” etc. I’m not saying starve yourself in order to reach your goal. I’m saying: Be intentional. That being said, don’t let you be the reason why you don’t meet your goal.
When you tell yourself anything–every cell in your body responds. Therefore, decide who you want to be. Decide who you want to love. Decide what your non-negotiables will be. Commit. Decide. Thrive. The words you tell yourself matter. Above all, you matter.
