I’ll just come out and say it. The holidays can really suck for some people.
Amidst all the forced cheer, the commercials filled with normalized extravagance, social media posts and Christmas cards portraying perfection and shiny smiles, it’s easy to forget that this time of year brings a great deal of pain for many.
My mom died 2 weeks before Christmas.
Her birthday is December 25th for crying out loud! And I used to seriously struggle this time of year. But I promise you, there is hope.
If you are in a dark season of your life right now, please know you are not walking alone.
And remember that you are NOT your depression, your anxiety, or your darkness.
These are simply passing sensations that do not define you.
And if you listen to your SELF with enough grace and love, you’ll see these temporary emotional states are trying to guide you to powerful and positive changes that align with your true greatness.
