A Canadian man dared to try and cancel his gym membership. Thankfully, someone put him in his place. You know … roughed him up, “pulverized his face” a little.
No kidding.
Christopher Probst had been trying to cancel his membership with the Goodlife Gym since August, when he moved from Ottawa to Oregon. Told that he could only cancel in person, he made a detour to the health club on a weekend trip. Once there, he was told that he needed to leave, then call and make an appointment. When he refused, the receptionist threatened to call security.
According to CBC News, this is what happened next:
“They actually came screaming in my face, and I said to security, ‘Is there a way we can discuss this civilly?’ And they said, ‘You need to leave now, I’m giving you two seconds.’ And the next thing I know is that they’re pummeling me, and I’m hearing, ‘He’s resisting arrest, he’s resisting arrest,'” Probst said.
Once the real police arrived, he was released and the officers ensured that his membership was canceled.
