Finding moments of relaxation and connection can feel like chasing butterflies in the whirlwind of motherhood.
Yet, amidst the chaos of diapers and bedtime routines, the importance of socialization for maternal mental health cannot be overstated. For moms, building connections with fellow parents provides camaraderie. It acts as a lifeline, offering essential support and fellowship.
Mariela De Santiago, a former special ed teacher, mother and founder of Carlsbad Mom Walks, understands this fundamental need for connection all too well. To address the difficulties of finding real chances to meet others face-to-face, she came up with an idea for a community project.
What is Carlsbad Mom Walks?
Carlsbad Mom Walks is more than just a leisurely stroll in the park. It’s a cozy gathering where moms with their babies in carriers can join in, swapping stories, exchanging parenting advice, and forming bonds that can last a lifetime.
“As someone who recently became a mother, I came to understand how important it is to have a supportive community of other parents,” Mariela explains. “The idea for Carlsbad Mom Walks came to me because I wanted to create a friendly space where mothers could gather, take a walk outdoors, and forge connections with each other.”
Creating a Welcoming Space
At Carlsbad Mom Walks, there’s a strong belief that motherhood is a journey best shared. Mariela has worked hard to create an inclusive space where moms feel embraced and appreciated.
Carlsbad Mom Walks offers moms more than just online chatting. It provides a welcoming environment where moms can walk together, chat, and form genuine friendships.
The group organizes diverse activities, from beach walks to park yoga sessions, catering to the varied interests of its members.
In an age dominated by technology, the opportunity for face-to-face interactions is invaluable. Carlsbad Mom Walks facilitates real-life connections through themed walks and park picnics, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
“Our aim is to make sure moms can come with their little ones and feel completely at ease, knowing they’re surrounded by a caring community,” Mariela shares. “I want every mom who joins in to feel like they’ve discovered their village, a place where they truly fit in.”
It’s all about connecting in person, away from screens and building a strong community together.
“Virtual interactions can only go so far,” Mariela remarks. “There’s something special about being able to look someone in the eye, share a laugh, and feel the warmth of human connection. That’s what Carlsbad Mom Walks is all about.”
Beyond all the health perks of staying active, these meet-ups give moms a chance to connect with others, giving them a sense of belonging.
“You know, as moms, we’re always multitasking and taking care of everyone else,” Mariela reflects. “But it’s important to take some time out for ourselves and focus on our own well-being too. That’s where Carlsbad Mom Walks comes in – it’s a chance for us to gather, relax, and be there for each other.”
Mariela aims to expand Carlsbad Mom Walks to other areas, offering more moms the chance to connect and socialize.
“As we look to the future, we’re excited to see Carlsbad Mom Walks grow and evolve, touching the lives of moms everywhere,” Mariela affirms.
Life as a busy mom is like orchestrating a never-ending symphony of tasks, from ensuring everyone is fed and clothed to chauffeuring the little ones to various activities. It constantly balances work, family, and personal time, often leaving moms feeling like they’re running on autopilot.
Amid the busy pace of life, Carlsbad Mom Walks beckons moms to hit pause, relish each moment, and treasure the bonds that brighten motherhood. Every stride and every chat fuel the dynamic community, revamping mom get-togethers with every stroll.
