Submerged homes, families trapped on the second floor of their houses, a man wandering aimlessly and in tears and disbelief after losing his trailer and home, a woman is found floating face down and not breathing in the midst of the flooding waters of Texas; this a living state of rescue.
We are locked in a balancing act of working with the wrath of nature, learning to create a forum for the healing of our country’s social and ethical division and looking for the answers to support the outreach for to produce more humanity of our country. In times of crisis, our country seems to come back together to unite for a mutual healing.
As one of the most powerful storms to hit the mainland of America in over a decade, Hurricane Harvey has become one of the most costliest storm in U.S. history, surpassing Hurricane Katrina for being in need for relief assistance. The call to assist and resist the drowning of the people of Texas is loud and clear. America is waking up to reach out a hand to water logged state in emergency. Because of the flooding, we are seeing through the humanitarian eyes of America. The needs of America are growing with time. It requires more of us to correct old problems. This is a living lesson of being in the state of needed to be rescued.
We are on a hunt for a victory, a rising of the spirit to feed the troops of America, the families in to keep their homes, the families on the street, the frustrated, aspiring students and Middle-Class America. Women and people of color, gays, lesbian and transgender people are asking for a victory, a regaining of a sense of self-worth. We want to see the needs of the people of America with compassionate eyes and hear through our compassionate ears, the call of need.
We want to honor our humanity for our human family.
There is a loud conversation occurring and being spoken to and from the people of America. Our system of government is broken and we are in the midst of drowning in the waters of rage and disappointment. There is blood running cold and bodies flooding everywhere. There are people afraid to sleep for fear of what they may wake up to. We are at the bottom of the barrel and there seems to be only one way up. We need to gut the pig and have an American barbeque, provide the chicken, the fish and all the veggies you can eat.We need to dance on the roof tops, break some bread, sit and have a real and open conversation.
What have we done to deserve these punishing rains and flooding or is this an open conversation how we should distribute the breath of life, water?
Do we leave Texas to fend for itself or are we truly the United States of America or does it not deserve all of our services as would any region or state of people in America?
How do we get America back on track of existing as a true democracy and what are the steps we need to take to get us back on track to follow to where?
Who gets to walk through the open doors of silver and gold, to live openly in the land and fields of milk and honey?
Is it time to renew our voice and begin to march for our rights again, like we did in the 1960’s?
There is a ten day march from Charlottesville to Washington and it began on Monday, August 28th to end in Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 6th. It is a sustained civil disobedience campaign, demanding Trump be removed from office and an agenda of advancement healing of the wounds of white supremacy. This is a state of rescue.
The days of Martin Luther King, Jr is echoing in the wind, bouncing off the waters of Hurricane Harvey. The people are on the march, looking for some clearer answers, some hopeful replies. 12,000 people have died from severe floods in Asia, as Hurricane Harvey floods Texas. Echoes of change are heard all over the world as Mother Nature speaks in a clear language demanding the ways of man to be progressive in its nature and methods of change.
Cities of America are organizing together to resist the flow of hatred attempting to contaminate the drinking and bathing water of our modern United States of America. We are beginning to show a new developing face, a face that has memories, remembrances of the facts of why are still attempting to redefine what is the American Dream and who has the right to the truth of the “pursuit of happiness.” In a true democracy, there is no superior race. We are the human race and In a true democracy we can have a conversation and have debates with a faith, we will continue to have real conversations, human to human.
As Mexico contributes to aid Texas, as it has historically done for American time and time again, I read in the news people are donating money to the Red Cross. People are flying to Texas to assist in this disaster. Thumbing through the internet I read,
Sandra Bullock donates $1 Million dollars to Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts of the American Red Cross are the words of Matt Fernandez of Variety. Despite the current political divide and turmoil in the country, she hopes, at the very least, the storm provides an opportunity for Americans to unite.
This is a calling for a conversation to examine the state of unity, the security for yourself and your family, your community. This is calling for the clarity of the state of our humanity, the focus of our intentions. This is a calling for an answer of where is the love?
