Looking for a delicious, easy way to power up with breakfast? Try out this recipe with step-by-step instructions and photos.
After one week of racing, the 100th Tour de France moves on with incredible speed and grit. Right now, the cyclists are in southern France grinding their way up and flying down the stunningly spectacular and breath-sucking steep Pyrenees Mountains. Grinding it out the way these elite athletes do takes a lot of sustained energy. With that in mind, Microwave Cooked Power French Toast is a quick and easy meal to make that combines complex carbohydrates with protein, healthy fat and fresh fruit to give you a long-lasting energy burn, which is great in general and even better if you’re using it to fuel up for a good dose of physical activity. (Here’s a shot of what I had for breakfast this morning while putting this piece together that powered me for a strong, 39-mile, smile-inducing rip on the bike!)
