This amazing tale comes to a close in ‘Wicked For Good’
A number of years ago I got to read the book Wicked, and ended up liking it more than I thought I would. Years later I was able to see the musical with some of my family, and had a blast from start to finish. Like many people, when I first heard of a film being made, I had doubts if it would be good or not. Thankfully all those doubts were put to rest once I saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was able to attend a screening for the sequel to the first movie and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for this sequel here:
Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum).
Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard.
As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.

Wicked for Good gets 8/10. Although not as strong of a film as the first part, overall I still enjoyed it. The cast does a great playing their roles, even with the unexpected changes some of them end up going through. The characters have some difficult things happen to them, and a few come to shocking conclusions once this story comes to a close. Once this movie comes to an end life in Oz will never be the same.
