Any who says that high heels are for sissies hasn’t seen these guys in action!
I love these videos. Anytime they come out, I have to watch.
It started with this post, Do Heels Make Less of a Man?. We can talk about men’s fashion throughout history, how men were the original wearers (or perpetrators) of high heels, how they were a status symbol, etc.
But if we’re talking about now, unless it’s an event like Walk a Mile in Her Shoes or a costume party where there’s an “excuse”, you’re not likely to see a man in women’s shoes, particularly high-heeled or “sexy” versions. Even if they do like them or want to wear them, it’s a pretty strict cultural taboo, part of the remaining “don’t do/look/be like a woman”, the implication being that feminine = unmasculine or gay.
It’s likely to bring swift judgement.
And then there are these guys, who are known for their shoes and what they can do in them.
And any steps we can take -ok, maybe not their steps – to get rid of the tired attitude that there is something inherently wrong or unmanly with any type of clothing or shoes is a step toward making the world safer for people who want to dress outside of the gender box.
High heels aren’t for sissies. They’re for whoever wants to wear them.
And if they can dance like this, sign me up for the show.
the guy in black leggings or tights looks absolutely amazing, showed the beauty of the male form
