People on the spectrum have a lot of other things they deal with. For some, like me, it’s depression and anxiety. For others, it could be a number of other things, both social and physical.
Never once until a couple of weeks ago when I was on Twitter did I even consider eating disorders and girls/women on the spectrum. According to Brenda Grund of CentrumSpectra, in the Netherlands, lots of autistic people have eating disorders such as anorexia.
Brenda was my guest on my most recent Not Weird Just Autistic Podcast and she had some very interesting things to say.
Since she does a lot of her counseling via Skype, Brenda works with clients all over the world, including many in the United States. She is an amazingly helpful and compassionate person who always puts the interests of her client first and her sole focus is on helping people overcome their eating disorders so that they can live healthy lives.
I could tell you more, but that would take away from all the fun of listening to her. So sit back, relax and enjoy my conversation with Brenda Grund of Centrum Spectra.
