One of those times for me was being stuck as a freelancer on Upwork, with tons of proposals sent out and not a single reply from anyone.
Damn…! I felt like a total loser, whose road to redemption never existed.
But all of this changed when I began searching the internet for solutions, and hey…!!! Guess what?
I discovered an arsenal of UNDILUTED resources out there, ready and waiting to fix this problem, I thought wouldn’t go away.
One thing caught my attention during the search process:
This was how certain niche blogs had built thriving businesses around this problem that was eating me up from the inside out.
There were boot camps, eBook how-to-guides, blog posts, video tutorials, webinars, newsletters, and what not sharing valuable practical solutions that work, you could tell from the testimonials and reviews seen on the site.
There was engagement in the comment section.
real insightful ones that went deeper to address unique issues that weren’t in the original blog post.
Quick Tip: Never skip the comment section; you might miss out on very valuable information that wasn’t shared in the post.
The downtime pushed me to seek solutions. Do you know how I felt after the discovery? I felt very HOPEFUL
The BUSINESS of BEING
A wise man once said, “if my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.”
One of the essential requirements of being successful at anything
is mentally preparing for the execution of the steps required to fulfill the goal in question.
Most successful people seen today didn’t sit idle to find themselves successful overnight,
No, they didn’t…!!! Instead, they stopped at nothing working hard consistently; asking the right questions to find answers,
Looking out for resources they needed and taking the required steps day by day towards where they wanted to be, this; in turn, gave birth to success.
Therefore for you to enjoy success tomorrow you must be willing to work very hard today and every other day.
13 ways to HARNESS the principles of BEING
Knowing the what, why, and how: A very important part of succeeding at anything,
is being able to cut off side attractions, and apply laser-focused attention to the things that matter in life.
Life is characterized by a lot of noise, a lot is going on everywhere around us already,
but being able to filter and choose the kind of noise you want to be involved with at an early stage in life is a smart move.
Knowing your “why” is an important key to your success, as this fuels your passion for doing the “what”. Your why could be family inclined, career inclined, happiness inclined or health inclined, etc.
Once the “what” and “why” are known the “how” follows naturally as this becomes part of your life’s mission.
Visualize what you want: Put up a photo of what you want, in a place where you can see it every day. This serves as a reminder of what your daily mission has now become and helps you keep a mental picture of what you want.
Visualizations help us to subconsciously prioritize our daily actions towards our goals,
this way we are most likely to achieve them faster,
It is also an attraction magnet. Subconsciously your daily visualizations put a demand on the universe’s creative power and make you a co-creator,
Along your course of daily living, the universe puts in your path the necessary resources to achieve your goals bit by bit,
but you’ve got to be vigilant enough to identify, decode and put them to good use.
Research/ Educate yourself about what you want & how to get it: This is the most important part of your journey,
as the only way to manifest what you want to become is encased in the knowledge of the subject matter
The know-how comes by engaging every form of knowledge available on the subject matter involved.
The internet is your first point of call; engage search engines on your mobile phones, PC, and Mac,
you would be surprised by the amount of information you will discover,
from eBooks to podcasts to blog posts to newsletters and YouTube videos.
Start immediately,
get reading, get watching, get listening, take that online course, join that boot camp, signup for that newsletter,
if it means enrolling in a higher institution of learning then get enrolled.
This sets you on the path to unparalleled success.
Create an action plan with timed milestones toward what you want: it’s easy for you to get sidetracked when you create goals or action plans mentally,
there is a 70% chance that you will forget and not follow through till the end.
The easiest way to avoid this is by creating a detailed written document,
outlining your daily commitment to a course of action within a particular timeframe.
Break down your activity into milestones, Go at your own pace don’t do everything at once it will overwhelm you.
Execute action plan devotedly: it’s one thing to create an action plan it’s another thing to stick to it. Make sure you’re committed to your journey. Stay on course for the long run you will reap the benefits in the nearest future.
Surround yourself with people who want the same thing as you: Like minds attract and can do a lot more together, as they are in tune with a common vision,
they serve as a source of inspiration along the journey.
Experiences along the line of discovery are usually the subject matter of discussion at meet-ups,
this can help you to identify and avoid pitfalls in your journey.
Find and submit to a mentor: Find someone who has succeeded in getting what you want and ask them how they did it; this helps you to identify and avoid pitfalls.
Don’t fail to ask as many questions as possible to get their opinions about how they navigated that point in their journey.
Also, keep them in the loop as to where you are in your journey, you’ll be shocked by the reservoir of ideas you can draw from that simple conversation. Do this and you’ll be grateful you did.
· Stay one step ahead, rather than one step behind: Make sure to do everything listed above and below,
this would ensure you’re on the right track to being one step ahead.
Plan your milestones in a way that puts you ahead. Create contingency plans to absorb your shortcomings.
There would be times when you fail, create alternate plans to see you through those times.
Find an accountability partner: To keep you committed to your journey, an accountability partner’s help would most likely get you to cover unimaginable miles as per your milestones.
When you have lost the zeal to carry on, knowing that you have to report your progress to someone who is making a killing of their journey would get you up on your feet.
Experiment often: Don’t stick to one pattern of doing things; try to find new and efficient ways of delivering on your tasks.
Make your intentions known publicly: Talk about what you’re doing at every opportunity you have to network,
you never might know who could help you at distressing points in your journey.
Cross networking opportunities can spring up from casual conversations,
your strong point might be another person’s weak point this can lead to a cross-pollination of efforts to achieve goals,
Use social media as much as possible to journal your thoughts and points in every part of your journey,
you’ll be surprised by the like minds you would attract.
This also keeps you accountable in your journey as everyone on your social list now knows your itinerary and expects you to deliver on them as you’ve promised
Your only options are delivering on your responsibilities to preserve your social proof.
Don’t try to do everything at once: The sole reason for splitting tasks into milestones is not to be overwhelmed.
Seeing milestones as a pathway to the bigger picture makes it easier to achieve your goals.
This gives you a step-by-step approach to implementing actions that lead you towards your goal in the long run.
Create a daily routine: Your daily routine is your holy grail. Follow it judiciously. It helps you develop a pathway towards your goal. Find it, create it, and follow it.
The BOTTOM LINE
Life is transactional; you GET what you GIVE,
messing around; doing nothing and expecting answers to fall into your laps, is a lame strategy that would get you nowhere in life.
Problems would never seize to exist, they would always be there somewhere in our
· Business
· Family
· School
· Work
· Relationships
· Health
· Finances
· Shelters
· Markets
· Governments
· Machines etc.
They always are.
In my experience, if I had done nothing about fixing my freelancing predicament,
I would still be stuck in ignorance and clueless about what I could do to get clients.
The real problem lies in doing nothing about the problem. This is the problem of all problems (it’s the BIGGEST PROBLEM) nobody should have.
The mere act of actively seeking out solutions reduces the threat of the problem by almost 20%.
Your answer lies in the search; it awaits you on the other side of the search. Discover it. Get searching you will surely find answers.
Results don’t just fall into our hands without the required work,
learning and getting those processes working is key to becoming successful at anything in life
Like I mentioned earlier LIFE is TRANSACTIONAL, you GET what you GIVE.
Invest in the hard lifting you would surely reap the benefits in due time.
