Blair Witch is a terrible sequel that fans are sure to hate
I have never seen The Blair Witch Project. I also never sat down to watch the next film Book of Shadows. Yet I decided to check out Blair Witch when it came to theaters. Honestly I didn’t like it that much. When I was offered a review copy I decided to give it another chance. Here is my opinion of this film after seeing it a second time.
You can read the plot for Blair Witch here:
A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of their friend’s sister, who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.
I still didn’t like Blair Witch. There are a lot of reasons for this. It never scared me, no matter how hard it tried sometimes. The plot is bland, and takes a long time to get interesting. For most of the film, you have no idea what is going on, and it is kind of boring. The worst thing about this film though is its use of Go Pro cameras. They gave me a headache, and made watching this film a pain. Yet the sets are pretty good and the special effects are a huge step up from the first film.
