There is tons going on in this ‘Frankenstein’ teaser
I have read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and it tells an amazing story. Thanks to this book, a brand new genre was born. Over the years this story has been told in a number of different ways, not all of them great. Recently the first teaser for the newest take on this story has been released online and here is my thoughts on it.

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
There are lots of crazy things going on in this teaser. We first meet Victor in a lecture hall, talking about an intriguing topic. Next we jump to him getting ready to do something, a moment that will change his life forever. There are some dreary looking moments in this teaser, but that only adds to the suspense. A few times we get glimpses of the creature, and they sure do look menacing. As this teaser comes to a close it becomes apparent Victor realizes they have made a terrible mistake.
Frankenstein arrives November 2025 on Netflix.
