Fifty Shades Darker is a sequel that is tame in comparison to the first film
Until recently I had never seen Fifty Shades of Grey. A few days ago I finally watched it. It was an okay movie, but not something I liked that much. After watching it though I did kind of want to see Fifty Shades Darker. Here is what I thought of this sequel.
You can read the plot for Fifty Shades Darker here:
When a wounded Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele (Dakota Johnson) back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.
Fifty Shades Darker was an okay film, but not that great. The film goes in an entirely different direction from the first film, and I think this was a mistake. It was weird to see everything so tame in this installment, it just felt out of place for me. There are a few erotic scenes, but they could have been hotter. Towards the end the film gets really predictable, which was a real shame. I did like it better than the first movie, but not enough to be able to recommend it. Fifty Shades Darker gets 5/10. This was an okay sequel, but not amazing either. The plot was not that exciting, and the romance felt fake to me. It does have a great soundtrack, and some of the costumes were quite good. Yet fans of the books may want to avoid this film, I bet it was much better than this. Definitely not a must see film, although some people may like it.
Fifty Shades Darker comes out this Friday. You can follow this film on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
