‘Penny’s Big Splash’ tells a touching story
As a kid, I loved watching Disney films. Each one told a touching story and took me on some amazing adventures. In my adult years I still enjoy watching these types of movies. I have read a few graphic novels based off of these characters and have had a blast reading each one. When I heard about Penny’s Big Splash I couldn’t wait to read it. I was able to read a digital copy of this book and here is my thoughts on it.
You can read the plot for this graphic novel here:
The Colonel and Pongo are about to take Lucky, Rolly, and Penny out for a day at the lake! Before they leave, Sergeant Tibbs tells the Dalmatian pups a story of a serpentine monster hiding in the depths of the lake.
Lucky and Rolly laugh off the story, but Penny grows more scared the closer to the lake they get. Lucky and Rolly, on the other hand, continue to grow more excited and encourage Penny to be brave.
I had a lot of fun reading this graphic novel. The story it told was simple but still was a joy to see unfold before my eyes. Penny fears there is a dangerous monster at the lake and for a moment refuses to swim with her siblings. Thankfully with their help she gives it a shot and has a blast for a time. When they all see a monster they are scared until they discover what it really is. Once this tale draws to a close the day ends on a happy note. Kids will have a great time reading this book.
