This game has amazing graphics, tough boss battles, and is a must play for all Mario fans.

I have been a fan of the Super Mario Bros. video game series since the beginning. In that time, Mario had been to a lot of different worlds and had some amazing adventures. The plot to this new game stays fairly the same, with Princess Peach always getting kidnapped by Bowser and Mario going to rescue her. There have been some minor deviations in the games, but usually this is what happens. There have been many moments when a game comes out like Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy or recently New Super Mario Bros. that change the way these games are played. Even though Mario has been around for many years now, Nintendo keeps finding new ways to make the games fun and interesting, and this game is no different.
Super Mario 3D Land is the first time Mario has had a full 3D environment to explore on a handheld system, and it makes for a fun and challenging game. Whether it is used in finding items, unlocking switches, or in boss battles, it made the game a blast for me to play. There are usual power ups like the fire flower, mushrooms, and the leaf but there are some new additions like the ice flower and the boomerang flower. These new power ups give the game a fresh feel, and add new cool things you can do to get ahead and beat your opponents. The levels also have some new things going for them. With the 3D graphics there are many levels where you are moving and in a moments notice you have to change direction or you will perish. There are also many levels where if you are not on your guard an enemy can pop out and cause you damage or make you lose a life.

There are toad houses to help you get items, and also a new feature called a mystery box that when you enter it you are given challenges to overcome in a short amount of time. When you succeed, you get a star coin or a power up. I enjoyed seeing what challenge I would have to complete each time I came up to one. You also collect star coins, the currency of the game, and they are used to open shortcuts and also provide access to special levels or dungeons.
I really liked this game. It was tough to get all the star coins, and some of the levels I had to attempt multiple times before I was able to finish it. The boss battles were also a challenge, which is a welcome change from some other Mario games I have played in recent years. One of the greatest parts of the game is that there is so much to do in this game to keep you occupied, but once you think it is over, let’s just say, it has only just begun.
If you have played some of the Super Mario games before, you must play this one. If you have enjoyed some of the other handheld Mario games, you should check this one out. It is one of the best handheld Mario games I have ever played, and is one any fan should give a chance. The game did so well that it spawned a sequel called Super Mario 3D World on the Nintendo Wii U.
