‘The Dark Tower’ Took me on a pretty exciting ride
There are a lot of movies coming out based on books lately. Some of them are really good, and others not so much. I have not had a chance to read The Dark Tower books, but I have heard good things about them. Now a movie is coming out based on this series. I was able to see it early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for The Dark Tower here:
Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.
I enjoyed watching this movie. It has great characters, a truly evil villain, a good story and tons of amazing special effects. The film starts a bit slow at first, but once the story gets going it was a blast to watch it unfold. The film wasn’t too long which made it easier to follow what was going on. One of the better films I have seen in a while. To learn more about The Dark Tower click on this website.
The Dark Tower gets 7/10. While it wasn’t a perfect film, it was one I had fun watching. There is plenty of action, a bit of drama, and a few funny moments too. I am not sure if everyone will like this film, but some people definitely will.
The Dark Tower arrives in theaters tomorrow. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Read the book then tell me what you think of the movie. I think your perspective will take a huge swing from what it is now.
I read the series and while It’s sad (but not unexpected) that this movie doesn’t do it justice, the film itself is quite a nice sci-fi romp with a high creep factor.
But it does feel more like a side story to the series.
Should have made it into a TV (mini) series. Movies just do not have enough time to really work out the story of the books.
