About Ashley Lynch-Mahoney
In some distant memory of my life, I earned a BA in Women’s Studies, did a stint in social service, and spent ten years working in and managing a proofreading department at a Boston ad agency. I now use my highly theoretical and excessively expensive education for the purposes of dodging toddler punches; dramatically reading The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear for the millionth time; laughing at snot bubbles and farts; never, ever sleeping; and thoroughly enjoying the privilege of the best work I have ever done – raising my two, soon to be three, sons. My goals as a mother can be summed up by the following: My sister-in-law, upon finding out that we are expecting a third boy, said, “Wow, that’s a lot of man in your house!” To which I responded, “No, that’s a lot of boy. I hope that someday it will be a lot of man.” My goals as a person have been trumped, for the moment, by this crazy, amazing, overwhelming parenting thing, but I haven't completely forgotten that I count for something too!
