A 26-year member of Toastmasters, Jim has enjoyed the many projects that all germinated from his involvement in this world-renown speaking organization.
For the past five years, Jim has been a TEDx San Diego Speaker Coach. His magical journey has included shaping his creative persona as a performer and graduate at Finest City Improv, a delighted member of the writing team of “The Three and a Half Star Musical”, author of the novel “Pacing the Cage” and the anthology “Letters From Over Yonder” and recently, the Director of new plays, “The Third Date” (2015), “Where is Santa Claus” (2016), “Bob Gets Cast Out of Hell” in (2017), “Let Me Finish” (2018) and “A Memorable One” (2019) all at the North Park Playwright Festival.
Jim has also been the Emcee twice in the annual fundraiser for San Diego’s Wheelchair Dancers, an organization providing free dance lessons.
In early 2017, Jim helped launch a new TEDx talk main event at the Donovan Correctional Facility, one of the most challenging experiences of his life. He repeated his role again as Speaker Coach at Donovan in 2018 and 2019.
