About Sally Allen
In my life, I have won an inheritance and lost it. I have travelled through time and to the other side of the world. I have solved murders, experienced storybook romances, and discovered alternate universes. Which is to say: In my life, I have read. Academic tomes and romance novels, murder mysteries and classic literary fiction. Newspapers, magazines, scholarly journals, and lots of product labels (but rarely user manuals).
Along the way, I earned a PhD at New York University in English Education, with an emphasis in writing and rhetoric, and a MA in English Language and Literature. I have taught writing and literature at New York University, Fairfield University, and Sacred Heart University and consulted in the Writing Centers at NYU and Fairfield U. Currently, I am an associate faculty member in Communications at Post University.
As a private consultant, I create and edit written content, lead book group discussions, teach writing workshops, and develop educational curricula. My writing has appeared in Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers, Field Notes, PREP magazine, and patch.com.
