When honesty isn’t enough!

About Victor Ude
Hi I'm Vic. Writing found me in 2013, then a close call in 2017 sealed it. My stories go from Science&Arts, the very sensible, to the imagined, mundane, absurd!
One of the most significant lessons I learnt after I was stabbed in 2017 was that you could never be too sure, never be too careful. Life is fragile and can change in an instant.
And yet what would finally set me on path became a story I read later. The story of a certain thief, who masterminded complex scores across three continents. When he was asked why, he said he'd committed them mostly for thrill, and to prove that he was somebody.
I considered it rather disappointing that such genius, such fortitude, would be invested into crime. But then again, I realized that it was even more disappointing that I, pointing an accusing finger, could not seem to get myself to do what I wanted to do – despite having desires that broke no laws. That thief, on the other hand, lived the life that he chose, something most people would never do.
I knew I wanted to write about certain things, but fear of judgment and criticism held me back. But not anymore.
My decision? If it is authentic, relatable and thought-provoking to me, then I am going to write about it.
If it riles, then I probably want to write about it too.
