US wealth distribution is far more disparate than we think and even more skewed than we would like.
When our ideals and perceptions of reality don’t match reality itself, a state of disequalibrium sets in and we sense that something is wrong. We come to feel perplexed and confused, its what psychologists call cognitive dissonance. That is what this video makes me feel, my perception, along with most Americans, of wealth distribution in America missed the mark. In fact, the wealthiest 1% of Americans have more of the wealth than most Americans think the top 20% have. So perhaps it an understatement to say we missed the mark, we nearly shot in the wrong direction.
