Chyna Scott and Joshua Williams both work in a $200 billion a year industry but they live in homeless shelters.
You probably guessed it—Chyna and Josh work in the fast food industry where they make $7.25 an hour while their employers make billions a year. After Chyna and Josh pay for child care, food and transportation their $200 check is all but gone meaning they can’t even begin to afford rent, so they settle up in one of New York City’s homeless shelters. Now, Chyna and Joshua are just two of the 50,000 fast food employees in NYC that are fed-up having a job that doesn’t provide lives most basic necessities, so thy are forming a union.
