My six housemates are straight every
single day pride
forget about all this queer and want me
to do things for them in June Pride they
forget about Black History Month and
expect me to do things for them in
February proud I will be nowhere they
can think of to find me pride I will be
nowhere I can think of defined me I
think proud the last time I was in the
South we made eggnog and didn’t talk
about all of our friends that have died
or been locked up since graduation how
we march for black lives because it is
personal proud the last time I came home
I came out again pride they don’t like
the ways I keep queering myself still
hoping it is a phase I love them all
anyway
