Friends, please do not let the glitter of dressed up turkey and Black Friday let you forget this horrific genocide. A genocide that stems from the root of what we today call Thanksgiving. For millions, today is the National Day of Mourning.
By all means be thankful for what you have, but by no means forget what was taken from millions of innocent souls. Never forget.

If a great nation is born from atrocity, how do you celebrate the great nation? But then really every nation was founded on bloodshed throughout time from when cavemen/women bashed each other with rocks to modern times of fighter jets and nukes.
The invading army won, made a DIFFERENT nation that some say is great (I’m sure the existing nation/s was great too before the genocide). So do we all throw away holidays celebrating the birth of a country? Should we have a minutes silence to honor the fallen? What is the appropriate behaviour?
