The modern world has given people options and choices in every product, service, and aspect of life. So, like everything else in the new world ovens also come in a wide variety of forms and types. Today’s manufacturers take everyone into account while building and designing a product. If somehow a product turns out to be not suitable for a particular audience, then the manufacturers release a whole new item for that specific audience. This approach of manufacturers has resulted in the creation of multiple variations of a once simple oven. Each type of oven is suitable for a particular audience, so people should put proper thought into picking one. Below are the types and their uses of ovens through which people can select a suitable option.
Form factor
The buying process of an oven starts with deciding regarding its form factor. Two major form factors ovens are free-standing and built-in. The decision of form factor heavily relies on the layout of a kitchen, but their characteristics can also change people’s minds.
The Free-standing type
This type of oven as the name suggests can stand on the kitchen floor. Standing ovens require a power outlet to function. Standing ovens usually come as a multi-purpose product, as they have a good functioning stove attached at the top. These ovens can easily be placed in any corner of the kitchen with their sole requirement being a power outlet.
Standing ovens give people the option of installing an oven without changing the entire design and style of their kitchen. The downside to them is that unlike their built-in counterpart, they eat up space as they are large and bulky.
The built-in type
In the built-in category, there are other two types. The first type is a wall-mounted oven which as the name suggests is mounted upon a wall. The second type is a bench mounted which can be placed on the counter. This type of oven is space-efficient and boosts the overall look of the kitchen as well. Unlike its counterpart, this type of oven looks like a natural part of the kitchen.
There are several advantages to this type of oven, but if they are not pre-built into a kitchen, adding them can be a hassle. Installing them in a finished kitchen would require changing the layout and design of the room.
How many tiers are suitable?
The next thing to focus on is the number of tiers. Ovens are available in single and double-tier options. Single-layer is perfect for everyday cooking and baking. They are placed beneath stoves which is why they end up saving space. Double layer ovens are designed for large-scale operations. People can make multiple dishes in them at the same time. The downside to them is that they require a lot of space.
Size
The size of an oven is also an important deciding factor. Usually, manufacturers create built-in ovens with a sixty-centimeter or ninety-centimeter width. The width is standard and complementing cabinets of the same size can easily be found in the market. Standing oven’s width is comparatively greater as they can be seventy-centimeter to one hundred and fifty-centimeter wide. If people are looking for a narrower option, then desktop ovens are ideal. The width of the desktop type can be as little as thirty-centimeter. The capacity of the oven should also be considered beforehand. People should assess what their usage of the oven would be. If someone wishes to make multiple dishes simultaneously, then an oven with a large capacity should be bought.
