“Seawater has polluted the rivers so what was clear water, is now polluted so no one, no place on the globe is not free from the issue of water. We’re going to have to talk about it—and maybe we’ll get a chance on the call—to figure out what planning you have to envision to redirect the resources and the population so that there isn’t a mass starvation and death, and economic collapse.
The bottom line is it cannot be allowed to happen. Imagine the catastrophe of Mexico City, London, and Beijing. These are three of our largest cities—they’re not only large, they’re industrial, they’re manufacturing and finance, holy cow can we talk about a stock market crash! Sure we can, we’re talking about a catastrophic event that has nothing to do with anything other than the existence, or lack thereof, of water. This is not a far away event, we’re talking 20 years.
By the year 2040, some or all of these places will be approaching or counting down from zero to a zero-day when they will be counting down because basic conservation techniques as we use them today are not enough. And as our weather continues to evolve, it will not be enough. There is a guess that sea levels could rise 15 to 20 feet in the same twenty years which further pollutes any fresh water and starts to create a water world kind of existence, and it’s water we can’t use.
Well, more importantly, it’s water that as the sea levels rise, unfortunately, I believe the number is about 70 percent of the human race lives on a coastline, so yeah, if our water levels rose 15 feet 20 feet, we might find a good portion of the East Coast underwater, a good portion of India underwater, London underwater. I mean all of London too, because it’s mostly flat, a big portion of Japan underwater.
Again, these are all major industrial places, so now here’s a question. Why is it nobody recognizes this and we have not heard every day about new ways of converting seawater to fresh water and new engineering to capture rainwater? Every raindrop is precious. Why have we not heard of an ad campaign that says every raindrop is the most precious natural resource ever? And, that we are not out here catching them ourselves…”

“Here’s the thing about The Good Men Project. We are trying to create big, sweeping, societal changes—–overturn stereotypes, eliminate racism, sexism, homophobia, be a positive force for good for things like education reform and the environment. And we’re also giving individuals the tools they need to make individual change—-with their own relationships, with the way they parent, with their ability to be more conscious, more mindful, and more insightful. For some people, that could get overwhelming. But for those of us here at The Good Men Project, it is not overwhelming. It is simply something we do—–every day. We do it with teamwork, with compassion, with an understanding of systems and how they work, and with shared insights from a diversity of viewpoints.” —– Lisa Hickey, Publisher of The Good Men Project and CEO of Good Men Media Inc.
