The giant emperor moth emerges from its winter slumber.

Settling upon old Andalucían walls it begins its quest for the female of its kind.
This regal moth is of an ancient lineage, and its ancestors roamed the nights when this mountain still lay at the bottom of a long vanished ocean.
Soon its offspring will continue that lepidopteral tale.
