The cumulus clouds are returning like familiar friends after a long summer sojourn.
Soon their bellies will swell, gravid with the promise of rain, succour to the parched land below.
The sounds of this dessication are everywhere; the dry crack of withered leaf on withered stem is carried on the edge of the wind.
The time of waiting continues here upon the mountain.
