100 Words on Love, by Mark Radcliffe
I once had a loft in Brooklyn with wonderful, lightfilled windows. But I never liked the view. All I saw was a dilapidated, rundown building across the street.
Then one night my new girlfriend stayed over, and in the morning, I found her staring out the windows with a glow on her face.
I asked what she could possibly be smiling about.
She turned and said, “The children.”
Sure enough, I looked down and saw a playground, with kids laughing and running all around it. It had always been there.
I just wasn’t looking through the right pair of eyes.
