Through investing in yourself, everyone should have a better life because it can provide a number of things not only for you but for others which can be a pillar for society. The goal of living life should be to advance at the highest level that you can imagine for yourself and to improve in every facet of your existence.
Though it can become an interesting adventure, living an exceptional life requires a lot and may or may not be simple because as individuals we all are different. With proper discipline, it can be easier for you to invest in yourself in many ways to achieve the pinnacle of having a better life.
What can be somewhat difficult is to stay focused and accept criticism while figuring out the journey of life with its obstacles. To the contrary, it can also be effortless or at least appear that way as an outside observant of someone else’s existence.
But investing in yourself is almost like investing in a business or at least it has some similarities such as commitment, discipline, and even value.
Here are five ways to invest in yourself for a better life but don’t forget you have to put work into it as well:
1. Stay Motivated and Self Motivation
Staying motivated can be challenging for most people because it requires discipline, focus and a lot of resolve. One of the easiest ways to stay motivated is to find out your individual why. This can help you in the long term because it’s your purpose for wanting to have a better life.
You have to find that special thing in your life that gets your blood boiling to make you want to do better. For most people, it’s family, a setback of some sort or anything else that gives you the drive to want to do better.
Self-motivation is needed as well so that you can find inner strength and purpose from within to motivate you.
Some people are not self-motivated but may need to seek or desire substance to achieve something better. When you have a family and children to feed it can naturally evolve into motivation while putting your entire way of life into perspective.
2. Consume Useful Content
When consuming useful content you will more than likely be ahead of the curve when it comes to living a better life. Doing things such as reading blogs and/or books, listening to podcasts, watching helpful and informative videos can be a huge step in investing in yourself.
Notice that we want to emphasize helpful and informative and here’s why: This doesn’t include watching sports all day, playing video games, or watching the latest music videos that will consume your time because it will not help better your life in any way.
You can consume awesome, informative content, through the instrument that you’re probably reading this on which is your mobile device. Platforms such as YouTube can provide informative, helpful videos that you need to help you invest in yourself.
Podcasts which are internet radio programs can be heard on apps such as iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher where you can listen to a variety of different shows that can help as well.
3. Learn A New Skill
Another way that you can invest in yourself and have a better life is by learning a new skill. Some of us (present company included at times) have insubordinate ways and are sometimes too stubborn to learn something new.
Just keep in mind that learning a new skill can help others and lead to something greater, that can also build a community of your wildest dreams. Make sure that you are helpful and confident in solving whatever problems that may arise if you are fortunate enough to do so.
There are so many ideas to choose from when it comes to learning a new skill. You can do a Google search on just about anything that piques your curiosity and possible skill level.
You can also get ideas from different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. You can benefit in a huge way by investing in yourself and having a better life through learning a new skill that can assist others too.
4. Be Accountable And Responsible
For some reason being accountable and responsible are closely associated in the game of life even though we tend to separate the two. Let’s make it mandatory that all human beings invest in themselves by learning both. You should not be able to have accountability without responsibility (at least in the euphoric or delirious world that was just created).
You also can’t expect someone else to hold you accountable at all times. If you have an accountability partner that supports you then great but when that person isn’t available, be prepared to guide yourself.
Being responsible is kind of like the “icing on the cake” (sort to speak) because you should be in charge of every action that you partake in throughout life. If you’re used to being accepted and embracing responsibility then it shouldn’t be a problem for you at all.
There are instances in life where one will shy away from responsibility but how can you have a better life if you’re consistently doing that?
5. Practice Consistency
No matter how hard you try, being consistent is probably going to be a thorn in your side over and over. Just think about it: How’s that New Year’s resolution going for you right now? Was your resolution something related to losing weight or otherwise?
Are you on that same path that you were the day after New Year’s when you started your resolution or weight loss program? Now you see where I’m going?
The point is not to make fun of anybody’s weight but to shine a light on the inconsistencies that all of us deal with at certain points. I’m no different than you because it’s the thing that I struggle with also.
What if you invested heavily into being consistent on any and everything that you put effort into? You would definitely reach, possibly exceed your return on investment and learn life lessons to create a better life for yourself to achieve heights that you’ve always envisioned.
