There are times when you like hanging out with someone, texting them throughout the day, making jokes about things you didn’t know you could find joy from, and everything feels so good, like you are walking through a flowery field, where the end holds a beautiful sunset and the person you want to share it with.
But as time goes by, something feels off. You cannot put your finger on it, but you know something is not right. You hear those sweet words and compliments, but not what you really wanted to hear, so you decide — that’s not a big deal, let me just confirm.
And all of a sudden, those words slip out of your mouth on a random day… so what are we?
What follows is silence — with an answer you didn’t anticipate.
Where did it go wrong?
Did I miss something?
Do I really seem the kind of person you can treat this way?
You make it about you when, in reality, it never was.
So what do you do now?
You have two choices: keep trying to win over someone who didn’t choose you, or you walk away.
Is it going to be easy? Would you be able to recover from it? Will you ever find a connection just as special?
The answer: You will.
As long as you don’t give up on yourself, as long as you have the ability to walk away from the wrong people, and make space for the right ones.
Remember it is your life, and you’re the main character of it. Keep moving forward, and you will find the right people along the way.
