There are a bazillion opportunities in this world, waiting for you and me to find them, and take advantage of them to earn some serious cash.
Whichever way we search for those gems, using our search engine of preference, or some form of social media, it is up to us and our wits to find them.
Thankfully, due to our benevolent online colleagues, many of these moneymakers are made known to us through their writings.
Besides this venerable outlet, it seems new sites for our writings are popping up almost daily.
What should we do about this? Any serious writer knows they have to expand their viewership in as many directions as possible, for maximum exposure. Most of us also know we must perform our due diligence before we commit to any certain contract, whether written or unwritten.
Personally, if I don’t like the terms of any of these sites, I just bypass them altogether. Right now, the frontrunners seem to be Medium and Quora. Like you, I’ve seen rumors that Facebook’s going to come up with something similar.
Newsbreak is another distribution channel starting to make inroads into this red-hot market. Consider too, that Twitter and LinkedIn are tossing around their own versions of some kind of platform for writers to monetize. I assume all of these players are extremely interested in the advertising revenue this will generate, even after they include some sort of vig (a gambling term bookmaker’s use for its cut of the pot) for the writers.
Those who get in the game the soonest will be the ones who profit the most. All the top writers are already writing tons of articles on this very subject. The only real difference my article offers is to tell you, the readers, not to procrastinate.
This isn’t necessarily an issue of developing your writing skill level as much as it is building your reader base as large, and as quickly as you can. In fact, if I can use a football game analogy: The game is five minutes into the first quarter. By the time the second half of this surge gets here if you wait until then to enter the game, who knows how many touchdowns you will have missed?
As I said in a previous article, Potpourri of Propitious Profits, it takes pre-planning to earn a well-deserved profit:
Prior proper planning prevents poor performance! Practice your prose persistently while polishing away pockmarks, and preclude any dangling participles before publishing. Pursuing publication after making your prose perfect is the proper way to proceed. Be purposely persistent, yet patient!
I hope you take advantage of this opportunity as soon as possible. While I can’t guarantee your success, you’ll be much happier with your results.
Thanks for reading!
