“When [President Donald Trump] visited Utah last month, he said I was a fighter,” Hatch said in a Tuesday video announcement. “But every good fighter knows when to hang up the gloves.” But those gloves may not hang on the hook for long. One man who appears poised to make a grab for them is none other than one of Social’s favorite Republicans, former Massachusetts Governor Willard “Mitt” Romney. The one-time presidential candidate won Social’s admiration for being among the few conservatives to push back against some of Trump’s more controversial statements during the 2016 presidential election. Social is supportive of the Romney run, giving his Senate chances a 67 percent positive rating. You might expect that former Trump adviser and Breitbart boss Steve Bannon, who said last year that he’s planning to challenge every Republican seat up for grabs and run hyper-conservatives to challenge Establishment types like Romney, might try to thwart Mitt. But with the firestorm over Bannon’s comments about Trump and the White House in the new book Fire and Fury, he may be otherwise occupied. –Hugo Guzman
